ABOUT ME

Hi, I am Shireen, a qualified psychotherapist and a registered member of the BACP. I have a private practice in Cobham, Surrey.

Prior to becoming a Therapist I worked as Account Manager for a leading British company. My background was to support Political parties with their marketing campaigns. I know what it means to work in high profile and high-pressure environments.  I am also a wife and a mother of grown up children. I have cared for and lost my parents. These experiences have led me to understanding the challenges of parenthood, work and managing relationships.

I am passionate about helping people return to their core values. My goal is for you to leave our relationship feeling empowered and comfortable, certain about what is important in your life.

Counselling for young people aged 18 and over

As a new, independent adult, many young people find themselves feeling lost and directionless; suffering from social anxiety and feelings of low self-esteem.

We are asked to do a lot of things for ourselves when we become legally independant for the first time. The world can feel overwhelming and intimidating, leaving us depressed. We find ourselves having to deal with anxious parents and friends who are confused by our self- doubt; adding to our burden.

This can be a lonely period in your life, a condition that flies in the face of all the positive images and dominant social media content.  It is all too easy to decide that you are of low value compared to others.

As a therapist, I have worked with young people to discover their values and beliefs; clarifying what is important to you and how your anxiety works. Understanding yourself better and gaining a more accurate perspective on the world, can help you decide what is right for you.

You can then  empower yourself and begin to do those things most meaningful to you creating purpose in your life.
